About the Point In Time (PIT) Count:

The purpose of the PIT is to bring more funding to Monroe County from HUD by providing HUD an accurate, reliable count & survey of unsheltered homeless people at a particular point in time. The snapshot gives HUD the ability to see our needs as a community and assess the population’s characteristics to fund best-practice interventions in response to those characteristics.

The kits will be given to community members by the Outreach team conducting the survey.

Interested in donating items?

Donations can be dropped off at the Providence Housing office at 1136 Buffalo Road Rochester, NY 14624

Travel size items:

Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Soap, Hand towels, Shampoos, Conditioners, Combs, Brushes, New Socks, New Hats, New Scarfs, New Gloves, Hand warmers, New Small Blankets, Hand sanitizer (alcohol-free), Tampons, Pads, Wipes, Deodorant, Kleenex, Pop-tarts, Candy, Soft granola bars, Applesause packets and Slim Jim’s
(We are accepting any items needed for daily necessitates)
(We cannot accept anything that contains alcohol, i.e., mouth wash or Hand sanitizer with alcohol in it)
