About the COVID-19 Vaccine Thank You Effort Volunteer Needs:
Volunteers are needed to support COVID-19 Vaccine Thank You Effort!
There is an uptick in vaccinations sites with thank you incentives being offered. Some clinics even extended hours to accommodate the number of walk-ins thanks to the word of mouth that spread about the thank you gifts. YOU are critical to ensuring that community members who have decided to get vaccinated are able to protect themselves from COVID-19.
- Thank you's are being offered thanks to a partnership between United Way of Greater Rochester and the Finger Lakes, Monroe County Executive Adam Bello and Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren, and Common Ground Health.
- Anyone aged 18+ attending a Monroe County - or Finger Lakes COVID-19 Vaccine Hub-sponsored vaccine clinic in the city of Rochester may receive a $25 gift card ($50 for Johnson & Johnson) and a bus pass as an incentive for getting vaccinated.
- Promotions may be offered per site sponsor and the Finger Lakes Region Vaccine Task Force.
About the Job Role:
- You get to congratulate and thank people for getting vaccinated, by offering them free incentives (thank you gift cards) in exchange. Ask them to spread the word to their unvaccinated friends and loved ones.
- You’ll be stationed near the observation area or in the exit pathway. There should be a table for you to set up at, but you may also have the opportunity (and find it easier) to move through the observation area to offer people their incentives while they wait for 15 minutes post-vaccination.
- You’ll be asking people which vaccine they received to determine which thank you gift to offer them, keep track of what you provide, and have the individuals sign off that they received these items from you.
- All instructions and materials for the shift will be provided upon arrival (in a black case at the site).
- Please feel free to bring a book with you for slower times at the clinic
