The Landmark Society is looking for volunteers to help with garlic mustard removal at our Stone-Tolan Historic Site in Brighton. Garlic mustard is an invasive biennial that inhibits beneficial native plants from growing. We have a small window of time to remove it between when it emerges and sets seed. Luckily, it can be pulled out of the ground, usually by hand. There is a LOT of it, so make it a party and share this with your friends! We may set another date the following weekend if needed. You can read more about garlic mustard here: https://www.nature.org/en-us/about-us/where-we-work/united-states/indiana/stories-in-indiana/garlic-mustard/

Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear for working in the woods. Work gloves are recommended, and we have extra on hand. Snacks will be provided! Please bring a reusable water bottle to help reduce waste.

Parking:
There is plenty of parking on-site. Use the gravel path leading from the parking lot behind the house to meet in front of the barn.

Restroom:
There is a restroom available.

Rain Date:
In case of rain, we will hold this event on Sunday, May 3rd from 9:00AM - 12:00PM. You will be notified via the email you include below if the rain date is necessary.

As always, we are thankful for our volunteers and your generosity!

Question? Please reach out to Lori Ducharme at lducharme@landmarksociety.org
