Volunteers needed to weed and mulch the garden in preparation for the Lilac Festival, and the summer and fall season in Highland Park. This is a one day clean up. Please bring garden gloves, a plastic bucket for weeds and mulch. We will provide pizza and water for lunch.
This is in connection with the annual Day of Caring event, but since the Lilac Festival begins on May 7 this year, we are looking for a team to help get the garden ready on May 6.
The Remember Garden is a living memorial to over 800 men, women and children that were buried in mass unmarked graves. These community members had lived in the former Almshouse, Penitentiary or Insane Asylum that was on the grounds now known as Highland Park.
