Who We Are
Rochester Accessible Adventures is dedicated to ensuring people with disabilities have equitable access to health through recreation, sports & tourism.
In 2015, a passionate group of 26 community members came together to tackle a critical issue: the stark divide in access to health and wellness activities for individuals with disabilities. Families found themselves sidelined, unable to join in the same community programs as their peers, simply because those programs weren’t equipped to meet their needs.
But now, thanks to Rochester Accessible Adventures (RAA), a groundbreaking change is underway! With our innovative model of inclusion services, we are not just breaking down barriers—we are transforming entire communities into spaces where everyone can thrive together, regardless of ability.
Join us as we reshape the landscape of inclusion and empower countless individuals to experience active recreation alongside their families and friends.
RAA has created a unique model of inclusion services—one that removes the barriers and empowers leaders in health and wellness arenas to become a part of the solution.
RAA exists to reshape places where inclusion isn’t happening, to empower these spaces to operate with full inclusion of people with and without disabilities whenever their doors are open for business.
We have worked with 26+ businesses and organizations and in 2025 began working with NYPA/Canal Corporation's On the Canals Program to develop the Accessibility Education Program (AEP) to take our model of inclusion services to many more locations along the historic Erie Canalway. In this exciting development, we will add up to 12 new locations that will be empowered to operate with inclusion of people with disabilities, along with our continued work with organizations like Genesee Land Trust, Corn Hill Navigation, Girl Scouts of WNY, Genesee Valley Audubon Society, Irondequoit Library, and many others!
The greatest impact? Hundreds of people with disabilities are now participating in active recreation alongside family, friends, and community members!
We are Making Inclusion Happen and your support makes that possible!
