Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts

The mission of the Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts is to provide children an enriched and rigorous education through the humanities and arts integration leading to success in college, careers and life.

Renaissance Academy Charter School of the Arts (RA) is one of two public elementary schools of the arts in New York State and the only one in Rochester. RA is more than just a school that infuses the arts into the everyday lives of its students. It provides: • More time for learning • Supports the development of character strengths; • Focuses on building language, numeracy, and math skills; • Offers one therapy dog for animal-assisted interventions in small groups, and for students experiencing trauma and/or emotional crises; • Provides extensive support for families. Our students are bussed from throughout Monroe County with 90% of students residing in Rochester, 93% eligible for free or reduced lunch, and 12% of students qualifying for special education support.
