Who We Are

The Breast Cancer Coalition (Coalition) is a grassroots, community-based organization dedicated to eliminating breast cancer through action and advocacy. Our mission is to cultivate community among those touched by breast or gynecologic cancer; to empower informed decision-making through education, support, and advocacy; and to advance research in our region with the goal of eradicating breast cancer.

What We Do

We offer a variety of education and support programs to those living with a breast or gynecologic cancer diagnosis. All of our programs are offered free of charge and include "Brown Bag Friday" support groups, the PALS (Peer Advocates Lending Support) program, healing arts classes, educational webinars, writing workshops, the Young Survivor Gathering and more.

We also advocate for meaningful legislation/laws that survivors have identified as critical. Legislative priorities focus on prevention of breast cancer, diagnosis, treatment, survival and, ultimately, a cure for breast cancer. Our Research Initiative provides grant funding for breast cancer research areas prioritized by the Coalition: Cause, Prevention, Prevention of Metastasis, and Cure. To date, the Coalition’s Research Initiative has awarded more than $1.1 million to local researchers in our region.
