Who We Are
We move lives forward everyday. East House is a private, nonprofit agency whose mission is to empower individuals with mental health and substance use disorders to recover and to live, healthy fulfilling lives in their community. Through an integration of supportive housing and recovery services, East House treats the whole person and helps move individuals from illness to health.
More than 1,200 men and women benefit from East House services, a majority living below the federal poverty level. Each of our 175 employees are recovery-oriented and take a person-centered approach to treatment.
What We Do
Supportive Housing
Starting with the belief that stable housing is essential to an individual's overall health and wellness, East House provides a full continuum of supportive housing in Monroe County. Each level of supportive housing assists individuals with building and maintaining necessary skills for independent living during their recovery journey. East House continuum of supportive housing includes: 6 community residences with staff onsite 24 hours per day, 7 days per week for 81 individuals and 150 transitional apartments with onsite staff support for 170 individuals and stipends for more than 200 individuals living in permanent apartments.
Recovery Support Services
Beyond housing, residents are provided with opportunities to develop vital tools for a successful recovery, based on Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's Eight Dimensions of Wellness, recovery plans are developed around each individual's strengths and assets.
