Volunteer: Volunteer with us!The volunteer opportunities at CP Rochester are as vast as your imagination. We offer a variety of experiences based on your personal interests, educational goals and needs, including: Children’s Programs– Gain valuable skills while working in a classroom at one of four locations. We offer preschool in Canandaigua, Geneva and Waterloo. As a volunteer, you may find yourself reading a story, aiding the teachers in daily activities, playing games or even assisting a child with special needs.Four Residential Homes- Residential home individuals with developmental disabilities. Come participate in daily activities or aid our staff in assisting the consumers on outings or daily living skills. Volunteers are needed on evenings and weekends. Structured Day Program for Adults- Assist our Day Program Staff with adults with Developmental Disabilities. Work directly with the individuals assisting with activities like gardening, cooking, art, etc. Therapy Services and Clinic- Clinical services are available to individuals both pediatric and adult, including occupational, physical, aquatic, psychological, and speech and language therapy. We work with many colleges and universities coordinating clinical placements. Summer/School break Respite Program- Come and join our summer respite program for children and teens with developmental disabilities. Interact with staff and consumers while they enjoy all summer has to offer. Special Events- Throughout the year CP Rochester has many events to promote awareness and raise money to support our programs. We welcome you to volunteer at one of our many events. Volunteer: SportsNet Adaptive Sports Program Needs YouIndoor Golf – Wednesdays 5-6pm- This program is an inclusive indoor program meant to refine the skills of the participants as well as play some courses during the colder months. Volunteer would aid with setting up the program, placing the ball and tee for the participants, selecting the proper club and ensuring a fun environment! Bowling- Tuesdays-5-6pm Bowling program gives a chance to allow participants who don’t normally have the opportunity to play to have fun in a inclusive environment. The volunteer will help participants bowl safely and proper. With certain individuals guide their role down the ramp, as well as ball selection, and again most importantly to have fun! Pickleball-Mondays-5:00-6:00- A new program that is looking for compassionate and committed volunteers who will help make the game of pickleball accessible and enjoyable for players of all abilities. As a volunteer you will assist with setting up adaptive equipment, provide encouragement and support, ensure safety and create an inclusive and welcoming environment.
