1. Volunteers should be physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying heavy items safely.

2. Teamwork: Volunteers who can work well in a team, communicate effectively, and collaborate to get the job done efficiently.

3. Volunteers should arrive on time and be committed to the schedule to ensure the project stays on track.

It would be great to have persons who own a truck and are able to drive a Uhaul

We are in need of all size diapers (1-6) for our refugee children. In 2022, we provided 459 diapers to 101 parents for their babies. Our supply has run dry and we are in need of donations to continue to provide them to our families.

Laptop computers are needed so our families can write resumes, search the internet for employment, and connect! We have an IT specialist who can fix older laptops and "scrub" information to get these devices ready for family use.

Each year Bristol Valley Theater employs 35-40 out of area professional theater makers to come to our beautiful region to work for the summer and in return for their hard work, the organization houses them in and around Naples. With that comes a need to supply bedding for the staff and this year we are asking to replace our old bedding that needs to be retired. The organization is asking for twin and full sized bedding and sheet sets, and pillows for our incredible summer staff.

Seeking a volunteer(s) to help create content (videos, photography, posts, blogs) for social media postings to share the good work of Kirkhaven with the community.

The digital literacy navigator will spend time in their local library system volunteering to help members of their community better understand and use computer based programs. The digital literacy navigator will attend an orientation that prepares them with the necessary information to be successful in delivering services effectively in their community based setting. Our navigators must have proficient skills in using computer and hand held devices. Tasks may include but not limited to; creating an email, online job search, resume/cover letter writing, operating desk top and hand held devices, using a variety of software, navigating the internet. Our volunteers are asked to make the 1-3-6 commitment, volunteer 1 time per week at a 3 hour shift for a minimum of 6 months. We work to accommodate the location, date and time of your shifts giving you control over your schedule and what works best for you. We are currently looking to staff libraries in Livingston and Wyoming Counties. Our current library partners in Livingston County include; Avon Free Library, Dansville Public Library, Livonia Public Library, Mt. Morris Public Library and Wadsworth Library. Our current library partners in Wyoming County include; Cordelia A. Greene Library, Perry Public Library, Stevens Memorial Community Library and Warsaw Public Library. This initiative has been developed to work on closing the digital divide by allowing access to computer/internet services and critical knowledge of the technological age we live in, to all persons in our communities. 

 Donations can be left at the front desk with security, located at 40 Bittner Street. Items should be mailed to this same address. 

Due to COVID-19, our needs have changed to reflect keeping our residents safe and healthy.  Donations may be dropped off Monday through friday, 8am-4pm.  Please call prior to dropping off (585) 368-2204. Shepherd Home is seeking a volunteer with Grant writing experience to aid in identifying and applying for Grant assistance.  

Our Resident Care volunteers provide personal care to our residents and extend support and hospitality to the residents’ families and friends.
Prospective volunteers have the opportunity to shadow our nurse, and other volunteers to acquaint themselves with the care given at Shepherd Home.

Requirements:  All you need is a compassionate heart and a drive to help those who are terminal to live their best life.  We will teach you the rest.

Shepherd Home can offer our services thanks to generous contributions from our donors as well as through fundraising events such as our upcoming Casino Night, Spring Gala and Golf Tournament.  A donation to raffle items for any of these events would go a long way in supporting their success and Shepherd Home's mission.  It is through collaboration and the support of generous donors and organizations in our community that Shepherd Home remains available to those in need.  Please consider making an In Kind donation today.

House of John needs more Clorox wipes and bleach to keep the house clean for staff, patients and families. Items can be dropped off on the porch located at the front of the house. We are looking for a volunteer to skim coat our front steps and some parts of our façade and do some painting outdoor painting.

Can you give a temporary home for a dog in need? One of our adoptable dogs would like to be your companion for a little while! Our shelter will set you up with food and equipment. Our dogs receive medical care from our shelter clinic. You provide a place to stay, daily care and exercise, and maybe some treats? We work around your schedule. The dogs are promoted for adoption through our website and social media.  Many dogs have found homes quickly after a brief stay in a foster home. This is a great way for folks who can't have a "permanent" pet to help a dog in need.

We are looking for volunteers to lead fun (socially distant) out door activities for adults, such as Yoga or Zumba or other aerobic classes in our parking lot.

The Arc Wayne’s group homes for individuals with disabilities, as well as Roosevelt Children’s Center’s day care services are essential during the COVID-19 pandemic. To keep our staff and the people we support safe, The Arc Wayne needs cleaning products such as hand sanitizer, Clorox wipes, and disinfecting spray.

We will be starting our Mobile Diaper Bank in the next few weeks, as our facility is unable to be open to our families in need.  Our mobile diaper bank will help families to get the items needed now, in light of this pandemic and later to help combat the transportation barrier.  We have a sufficient supply of diaper ( I think!) Volunteers of America’s Emergency Shelter for Homeless Families is open and operating.   We are serving more than 50 men, women and children daily, providing them with housing, nutritious meals, and private rooms were they can safely self-isolate.  

We rely on the generous support of community members to provide us with basic necessities for families, including personal toiletries (shampoo and deodorant), towels and linens.  We also need supplies for the shelter, including:
