Job Title: Food Pantry Volunteer

Reports to: Kitchen Manager
Worksite: House of Mercy
Location: 285 Ormond St
Hours Needed: Available hours will be scheduled Fridays 2:00pm-3:00pm. Minimum hours /week-1 and maximum hours/week-1. All Volunteer shifts are approved through Mission Tracker by the Volunteer Coordinator. Food Pantry Volunteer will report to Terrance Gibson, Kitchen Manager.
Functions: Assemble food baskets to be given out to community members in need and clean/reorganize pantry as needed. This includes verifying all foods are within expiration date, organizing shelves based on food item/type, and coordinating a cohesive food basket. Closed toed shoes and a shirt with sleeves are required to be worn.
Requirements: Must be able to follow directions closely and work well as a team. Must be comfortable working within a homeless shelter and be able to communicate with individuals with diverse backgrounds and possible barriers.
Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift >10 pounds and be able to stand for the entirety of shift.
