Foodlink will distribute over 2 million pounds of food to emergency food providers(pantries, shelters, and meal programs) in the weeks ahead. We need volunteers to pack emergency food supply boxes that will be distributed to families, seniors, and individuals in need.
We are following all safe volunteering guidelines provided by local health officials and the CDC. Thank you for helping us ensure the safety of our volunteers, staff, community partners and those whom we serve.
Volunteers Requirements:
- Be between 16 and 60 years of age
- Have no chronic illnesses such as diabetes, lung disease or heart disease.
- show no signs of any symptoms including a fever, cough or shortness of breath, or have been around anyone with these COVID-19 symptoms.
- Not have traveled outside of western NY within the last 14 days
- Practice social distancing measures (no handshakes, wash hands frequently, stand six feet apart, proper cough/sneezing etiquette, etc.)
- Additional safety precautions will be taken before, during and after the shift
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Gloves are NOT recommended for this volunteer activity, according to Monroe County Health Department officials, as improper use increases the risk of spreading the coronavirus. Masks, however, have been mandated by the governor’s recent executive order. Foodlink has a limited supply of masks to provide to volunteers April 16-18, but beginning April 20, volunteers are expected to bring their own. Please keep in mind that face coverings are NOT a substitute for social distancing and other risk-reduction measures.

Take I-490 West to NY-531 West
Take the Rochester Tech Park exit, turn left off ramp onto Harek Rd toward water towers
Turn right on Les Harrison Dr West
Past driveway called Wallace Way to next driveway
Go to driveway with the sign that reads “Bldg 11 East Dock”
Drive straight ahead to door with signs “Foodlink Volunteer Entrance”
For a point of reference, a Curbside Market Truck will be in the parking lot.

What to bring? Your energy! and layers( in case you get cold or hot). Water bottles will be provided
Physical Intensity: Moderate; will include walking and lifting boxes from 25-50 lbs.

Essential Status: Volunteers of food banks, food pantries, and other emergency programs are exempt from Governor Cuomo's recent Executive Order that mandates "non-essential" workers to stay at home.
