Needs From: Volunteer United

·         Assist with distribution of food boxes to registered recipients

·         Lifting of food and food boxes (up to approximately 30 pounds)

·         Document food boxes are received by recipients

·         Remain on site until all food boxes are picked up

·         Maintain up-to-date food distribution list (ensure new clients are added and those no longer in need are removed from the list)

·         May involve pick up of food from Food Link distribution site (currently located at Town of Canandaigua Highway Department, Route 5 & 20, Canandaigua) and transport food to Autumn Grove Apartments

Our Friendly Visitor Program connects volunteers with older adults who may be at risk for isolation.  With routine visits, our clients are given the gift of socialization, friendship and peace of mind.

Our Telephone Reassurance program aims to connect volunteers to older adults through routine phone contact to reduce isolation and ensure health and safety.

Volunteers provide Shopping Assistance to older adults who are challenged with leaving the home. The older adult provides a shopping list and payment and the volunteer shops for them and delivers the items.

Volunteers Needed to Help Ontario County Seniors

Home Delivered Meals:  Mileage reimbursement (currently IRS Rate:  $.725/mile)

                                   Approximately 1-1.5 per week

                                   Delivery hours between 10:45-1PM and 3:30-5PM in Clifton Springs

Drivers for Ontario County Residents to Medical Appointments, in county and out of county:  Mileage reimbursement also available.

One hour a week can make a huge difference in the lives of older adults in the our community.
