Chances and Changes is a nonprofit organization made up of dedicated advocates, counselors, and support staff who are deeply committed to serving individuals and families affected by domestic violence. Our team operates from a trauma-informed, survivor-centered perspective, meaning we prioritize safety, trust, empowerment, and respect in every interaction. We understand that each person’s experience is different, and we are committed to meeting individuals where they are—without judgment or pressure—while honoring their choices and autonomy. We believe in the strength and resilience of the people we serve and strive to create an environment where individuals feel heard, supported, and valued. Collaboration is central to our approach, both within our team and with community partners, as we work together to provide coordinated, accessible support. At our core, we are driven by a shared mission to foster safety, promote dignity, and help individuals move toward healing and long-term stability.

Chances and Changes provides comprehensive, survivor-centered services designed to support individuals and families impacted by domestic violence at every stage of their journey. Our work includes offering safe, confidential emergency shelter and 24/7 crisis support, as well as individualized safety planning tailored to each person’s unique situation. We assist clients in navigating complex systems such as family court, orders of protection, housing applications, and public benefits, helping reduce barriers during an already difficult time. In addition, we offer advocacy and support around financial stability, employment readiness, and long-term housing goals, recognizing that safety and independence are deeply connected. Our team also engages in community outreach, education, and prevention efforts—working with schools, organizations, and community partners to raise awareness, promote healthy relationships, and reduce the impact of domestic violence across the communities we serve.
