ENGin is a global nonprofit that helps Ukrainians of all ages improve their lives through authentic English-language conversation with volunteers worldwide. Our innovative program has connected over 65,000 Ukrainians and fluent English speakers for mutually beneficial relationships at the intersection of language practice, cultural exchange, mentorship, and friendship.

ENGin matches English-fluent volunteers from around the world with Ukrainian conversation partners for weekly online conversation practice. Volunteers share their culture and perspectives while helping their partner become more confident speaking English. Our vision is a Ukraine where global connection is the norm — where people of all ages and backgrounds benefit from cross-cultural relationships and see themselves as part of a shared global community. Since launching in 2020, ENGin has connected over 35,000 Ukrainians with over 30,000 volunteers. 99% of our learners report breaking the language barrier after 3 months in our program, and 79% of our participants form lasting friendships.
