Who We Are
History The Coordinated Child Development Program, Inc. (CCDP) was incorporated in 1973. The initial programs were housed in the Methodist Church on Main Street, and the Fiske House on Wilcox Lane in Canandaigua. These infant, toddler, preschool, and school-age programs moved into their new building, the Our Children’s Place of Canandaigua (Our Children’s Place Canandaigua) in 1996. Our Children’s Place Canandaigua is now licensed for 112 children ranging from six weeks to five years old and achieved accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) in 1999. In 1989, Our Children’s Place of Clifton Springs (Our Children’s Place Clifton Springs) was opened in collaboration with Clifton Spring Hospital and Clinic. Our Children’s Place Clifton Springs is currently licensed for 136 children and is now located in the educational wing of the United Methodist Church of Clifton Springs. Our Children’s Place Clifton Springs offers childcare services to children aged six weeks to 11 years old. Universal Pre-K classes are managed by Our Children’s Place at the Phelps-Clifton Springs and Canandaigua School Districts. On June 22, 2012, the School Age Program moved back to the Canandaigua Early Childhood Center at 55 Wilcox Lane after being located at the Canandaigua Veteran’s Medical Center on Fort Hill Avenue since September 2001. This site provides activities for school-age children before and after regular school hours, on school holidays, and summer vacations. Today, CCDP has grown into a program employing over 60 staff and serving close to 200 children at our two locations. Mission and Vision The CCDP mission is: Promote family support by strengthening the relationship between family, center, and community. Provide accessible, affordable care in a secure, nurturing, and creative environment for children ages six weeks to twelve years. Provide a well-designed learning environment that encourages the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child and the development of skills in decision making, problem solving, and critical thinking. We have carefully selected you as a staff member because we believe that you can provide the high-quality care that continually makes us the best in the business. We believe that consistent, ethical, and quality performance in all of our endeavors is the key to success and will result in loyal, mutually beneficial relationships.
