Who We Are
For decades, SBJSA has been and is a summer sailing and water recreation education center founded in 1956 on Great Sodus Bay NY. In the past 60+ years we have served thousands of families and children as they enjoy learning and using our watercraft and facilities. More recently, we also provide access to Sodus Bay and boating education for people of all ages through our Community Boating membership program and our fleet of boats. SBJSA is a 501(c)3 tax exempt organization that relies on tuition and fundraising to operate. We currently have over 70 watercraft and one of the finest sailing centers in the area. We provide programming for over 200 youth participants each summer. We have expanded our scholarship program in recent years to reach underserved or under represented youth by awarding 60+ scholarships in 2024.
What We Do
Sodus Bay Junior Sailing Association is committed to providing the joys of sailing and watersports to everyone, regardless of age or background, building lifelong boaters and fostering eco-awareness and stewardship of our beautiful Sodus Bay on Lake Ontario. Fun activities on the water are the core of our youth and community boating educational/recreational programs, inspiring self-confidence, teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, friendships and community spirit.
