Literacy Volunteers of Wayne County

We are a dedicated and highly trained team of Volunteer Tutors & Readers who come from many backgrounds, but share the common belief that literacy in all it's forms is a fundamental gift we can give each other.

We teach adult Learners in Wayne County, to read, write or speak English in order to achieve their personal and career goals. Additionally, we tutor math, digital literacy, and employment soft skills. Volunteer Readers work in our School-Based programs or in our free Book Store to engage the children and parents in our community to ensure that a commitment to literacy begins early and engages the entire family.
