Who We Are

Starbrige is a not-for-profit agency that partners with people who have disabilites, their familes, and others who support them, to realize fulfilling possiblities in education, health, and community living. Starbridge was created through the 2015 merger of The Advocacy Center and LDA Life and Learning Services. Both agencies were founded by families who wanted better opportunites for their loved ones with disabiliteis. Today, Starbridge provides a unique combination of advocacy and direct services for people with disabilities and their circles of support. Starbridge services include employment, education, and options for community living, to help individuals of all ages and their families to meet the demands of school, work, home, health, and family.

What We Do

Starbridge provides Public Education & Community Building programs to increases the capacity of students, community members and professionals to understand, accept and include people with disabilities. Additionally, Starbridge offers a Parent Center and Advocacy Programs that provide workshops, information, resources, and training on special education laws and regulations to families of children and adults with disabilities, including Adult Advocacy programs which helps individuals preserve their rights and increase their access to services; Self Directed Services support and empower people with disabilities and families to manage their own supports and services; Employment Services partner with youth who are transitioning from high school to the world of work to help prepare them for long-term employment and help adults with job development, placement and on the job coaching in competitive jobs; Residential Services meets the needs and level of support for each individual to live as independently as they choose; Together Including Every Student (TIES) supports the participation of students with developmental disabilities in inclusive, organized extracurricular and community acctivities through the support of trained student volunteers.
