Who We Are

In 1857 a group of civic-minded women, stirred by the sight of children begging in the streets, founded the Industrial School of Rochester. Now known as Rochester Childfirst Network, we provide quality childcare and education to more than 250 children, ages 6 weeks to 12 years, along with special education and support for in-home daycare providers. We believe that if given a strong, safe start in life, every child can thrive regardless of the barriers they face. Our youngest citizens should have the opportunity to enter Kindergarten ready to succeed, and upon graduation, be ready to go to college or enter the workforce, contributing to the prosperity of our communities.

What We Do

RCN provides early education and care for children 6 weeks thru 12 years old with a focus on educational and socio-emotional growth, including daily play in our unique outdoor space. Our comprehensive in-house resources and services allow children of all abilities thrive. Programs include UPK, school age care, special education services and support of in-home family day cares.
